I cannot recommend the one-to-one coaching with MCI highly enough. Preparing for the NHS consultant interview felt daunting, but the tailored support I received made all the difference. My coaching sessions were very productive, interactive and focused. I developed my answers from few liners at the start to really impressive one with well integrated examples. My coaches with their expert advice helped me build confidence, refine my answers, and present my experience in the most impactful way. What stood out was the extent team MCI goes to support its candidates. My emails were responded very quickly (even on Christmas day). My coaching included mock interview and the realistic mock interviews with thorough feedback helped me narrate clear, concise responses that aligned with the values and leadership expectations of the NHS. Thanks to Dr Agarwal, Bea and everyone at MCI, I went into my interview feeling calm, prepared, and authentically myself. I was successful in securing the consultant post I had been working towards. I joined the six-month MCI coaching plan. I wanted to make the best impression in my interview, and rather than having a few failures, I was focused on getting it right the first time (same as GIRFT)! I was very unsure at the start and was very confused when I looked at the questions that my friends were asked. Thankfully, time was on my side and that of the team MCI. I asked questions left, right, and centre, getting detailed, quick replies. A welcome call from Dr Agarwal was the best part, and it set the scene and kick-started my preparation. I knew how to make the best use of material and make the best use of one-to-one coaching time. I was helped at every stage (application check, pre-interview advice, etc). The question upload was beneficial. This helped me fine-tune my responses. I had a call from the chief executive after my interview. The panel felt that my responses were complete, timed well and had depth with suitable examples. Thank you, Team MCI.

I was dreading my interview. I knew there was a post and a locum in place. I felt I had no hope. I was wrong. I got the job! MCI coaches exceptionally well guided me. In his onboarding call, Dr Agarwal put me at ease very quickly.  We developed our strategy to use the time I had before my interview. He also advised me to use resources to my advantage. I had no idea which resources to use out of so many (videos, recordings, online lectures, books). I found the question upload facility very useful. It gave me tips to fine-tune my responses outside my one-on-one coaching time. This top-up added to my one-to-one coaching hours, making the MCI coaching plan the best value for money. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone applying for a consultant job.

An excellent course. My coaching sessions were quickly arranged, considering I had only a week for the interview. My coach had a wealth of experience and was very knowledgeable. I was surprised by the small minute errors picked up by the tutor, which made a huge difference in my performance. I had booked two one-to-one coaching sessions (four hours), and my learning curve was steep, with a noticeable difference between the first and the third. Dr Agarwal is very experienced and helped me navigate the complexities of service improvement. I am incredibly pleased with the coaching I had and recommend it to anyone considering preparing for a consultant interview. No wonder I did get the job I wanted.

I am pleased to write that I succeeded in my substantive consultant interview. I had only eight days to prepare. After booking, I received a welcome call from Dr Agarwal, and we developed a learning plan. I was given access to many resources, video lectures, interactive platforms, books, hot topic material, questions, master classes and videos. Could I cover them with so much material given to me? After my welcome call, I knew how best to use the study material and make the best use of my time. I was intensely grilled, probed and corrected in my one-to-one coaching plan. I started to think coherently and developed skills to give structured replies without waffling. I was one out of seven applicants. I nailed it on the day. Thank you, Dr Agarwal and the MCI team.

Got my job with just two weeks of preparation. Jobs in my speciality are few and far. I was very nervous. I did not know much about the trust as I was in Manchester (applying for a competitive job in London). I could contact my tutor when I needed reassurance and check that my answers made sense. Access to tutors was the best part of my coaching plan. The feedback that I was getting on my questions was gold. I had practice outside of my one-to-one coaching as I got almost instant feedback once I sent my recording to the tutor. All of this helped me get over my nerves and become confident. I was given the job, and the panellist felt that I answered every question (they asked me 11 questions), and my examples were genuine and showed maturity.

I want to thank Dr Agarwal, Beatrice, and team MCI for the support I received while preparing for my consultant interview. I was rubbish (yes, that is true) when I started with MCI. My coach worked patiently, cut out my waffle from my responses, and showed me how to integrate hot topics in my responses. The most helpful part of my one-to-one coaching was that I learned so much about myself (it does sound strange). I was able to showcase myself in a better light, develop my answers and follow the framework to avoid rambling. The panel was very impressed (So I am told).
